Our care philosophy provides guidance and ensures that all staff act according to the same values and principles.
Philosophy
Our care philosophy is the foundation of our daily work. It describes the human values that guide us, the beliefs we hold and how we understand and shape care.
We understand care as a comprehensive, holistic process that goes far beyond physical care. For us, care means accompanying a person through their entire life situation β with all their needs, wishes and inviolable dignity.
This philosophy applies to all employees of AGA Intensivpflege and is the binding standard for our professional conduct.
Core Principles
Every aspect of our actions is aimed at achieving and maintaining these three core principles β they form both the foundation and the vision for realising our responsible care objectives.
At the heart of everything we do are people β our patients, their families and our team. We treat every person with dignity, respect and empathy. Our employees are fairly compensated, continuously supported and encouraged in a caring environment.
We are committed to the highest standards of care and continuous improvement. Through regular training, interdisciplinary collaboration and structured care processes, we ensure that our patients always receive the best possible care.
Our purpose is to enable people in need of care to live a dignified, safe and self-determined life. This goal guides all our actions β from daily care to strategic decisions as a company.
Every person is unique and deserves individual attention. We take the time to understand the whole person β their history, their fears, their wishes and their strengths. Care that truly puts the person at the centre cannot follow a standard formula.
We don't see the diagnosis β we see the person.
People in need of care also have the right to self-determination. We respect our patients' decisions and support them in maintaining as much independence as possible. Wherever possible, we actively involve them in their own care planning.
Autonomy is a fundamental right β we protect and promote it.
Family and close friends are not outsiders but important partners in care. We actively involve family members in the care process, keep them regularly informed and support them in playing a central role in the patient's life.
Care works better when family and caregivers go hand in hand.
Our patients and their families should always feel they are in good hands. This requires professional excellence as well as consistency and reliability in action. We continuously develop our knowledge and keep up to date with the latest in medicine and nursing.
Trust is built through competence β and lived reliability.
Responsible Action
Our philosophy covers not only the care of our patients, but also our responsibility towards employees, society and the environment.
Standards & Guidelines
Our philosophy is anchored in internationally recognised standards. We are committed to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and implement them across all areas of our business. Our commitment to human rights is based on the International Bill of Human Rights and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
We support the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and are committed to complying with applicable laws and combating corruption in all its forms. We are always available to employees with questions or concerns, and reports of possible violations can be made in confidence.
